The Website Privacy Notice also describes the measures we take to safeguard personal information, how long we retain it, and how individuals can contact us about our privacy practices and to exercise their rights.

How FEV Measures Use of the Site

FEV measures how the Site is used, and records errors that visitors meet on it, with its own tools. These tools set no cookies and store nothing on your device. They use your IP address only while handling each request, to work out your approximate country and the daily visit code described below, and do not store it. Our hosting provider's server logs, described above, still record the IP address of each request.

The tools record the pages you view, how you reached each one (a link, a typed address, the back or forward button, or a reload), the website that referred you, and campaign tags in the link you followed. They record how far you scroll, which sections you see and for how long, where you click on a page (including repeated or fast clicks), the links and buttons you use, how you use the Site's interactive graphics and menus, how quickly pages load and respond, and errors raised in your browser, with the error's text and the last few things you did on the page before it.

On the contact form, they record which fields you touch, the choices you tick and whether the form was sent, never what you type into it. They also record your browser and its version, operating system, device type, screen and window size, display settings such as color scheme and reduced motion, language, time zone, connection type where your browser reports it, and your approximate country.

The tools take no screenshots or video of your visit and cannot play it back. Error messages are the only free text they keep, cut short and stripped to plain characters. Pages viewed on the same day are grouped into one visit using a code made from your IP address and browser details combined with a secret key. FEV replaces that key every day and deletes the old one, so the code cannot be linked to you after that day, and your visits are never linked across days or followed to other websites.

FEV uses this information to see how the Site is used, to fix errors, and to keep the Site fast, because it has a legitimate interest in running and improving the Site. FEV and hosting, cloud and software service providers in the United States that act only on FEV's behalf hold it. FEV does not sell it or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and keeps it for up to 25 months.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, these tools do not run during your visit and send nothing, error reports included. You can turn the signal on in your browser's settings or with a browser extension. It does not change our hosting provider's server logs.

Because this measurement keeps no name, email address or lasting identifier, FEV cannot find the records of one visit afterward, so it cannot answer requests to access, correct or delete them. The Global Privacy Control signal is how you object to it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Information Received From Other Sources

FEV may receive or seek to confirm your Personal Information from other sources, such as publicly available databases.

Third Party Site Analytics Services

This Site does not use Google Analytics or other third-party analytics services. When you start filling in the contact form, the Site loads Google reCAPTCHA to check that you are a person. Google may set cookies and collect information about your device and how you use the form for that purpose, as described in Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

How FEV Uses Personal Information

FEV uses the Personal Information obtained on the Site for legitimate business purposes such as:

To process, evaluate, and respond to your requests and inquiries.

To market our products and services to you where we have your consent.

To improve the functionality of our website, including for protection against fraud, malicious intent, security breaches, and other online risks. We will engage in these activities to comply with a legal obligation and/or because we have a legitimate interest.

Aggregate and/or anonymize Personal Information so that it is no longer personally identifying information, to generate other data for our use, which we may use and disclose for any purpose.

For instance, where we need to collect personal information by law or to enter into or carry out a contract with you, and you do not provide the data, we will not be able to enter into the contract; or if this relates to an existing product you are using, we may have to suspend or cancel it. We will respond to your request consistent with applicable law. To help protect your privacy and maintain security, we may take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your information. To the extent permitted by applicable law, a charge may apply before we provide you with a copy of any of your personal information that we maintain.
